Funky Clav D6

That Groovy keyboard !

Label : Ultimate Sound Bank

Immortalized by Stevie Wonder's "Superstition", the Funky Clav D6, at first intended for classical music, took a dramatic U-turn and helped instead to define the sound of funk. Thanks to the irreverent climate of the late 1960’s and early 1970's, it took hold as one of the primary instrument sounds of funk music.

Known for its trashy sound, this keyboard uses small rubber tips to fret strings, it was released in 1971 and is the most famous in the family.

Thanks to our friend Gert Prix from Eboardmuseum.com, we had a choice of several excellent model of this instrument, that allow us to choose the very best one. Then we started the recording work using as usual the best high-end analog Direct Box as well as the best Analog to digital converters.

As for our other keyboards, the Funky Clav D6 was deeply multisampled on each key with up to 11 velocity layers and release samples on every note.
